Maer Group has delivered a new integrated loyalty program for the Gold Coast’s number 6 restaurant on Tripadvisor, Shiraz Persian Restaurant & Bar.

The well-established Gold Coast icon commenced an exciting expansion in late 2021, opening its second venue at 2893 Gold Coast Highway, Surfers Paradise.

It was an ambitions project for owner Erfan Jalilian, with the restaurant taking over the iconic site formerly occupied by Black Angus restaurant.

The new location provided a more premium dining experience, while the original Surfers Paradise Boulevard Shiraz Restaurant was transformed into a casual dining Mediterranean Bistro.

In the lead up to the opening, Shiraz engaged Maer Group to help develop a new loyalty program across the Shiraz Group, as well as Jalilian’s four Surfers Pizza & Kebab (SPK) stores.

“It was a big project for the Shiraz and SPK teams,” said Maer Group’s Managing Director Matt Rafton.

“They were opening a brand-new restaurant site for Shiraz, while at the same time expanding the SPK business with a new location opening at Arundel.

“When Erfan reached out to us his brief was simple – he wanted to create the best loyalty program on the coast to reward his customers across each business.

Maer Group set about designing an integrated membership and POS based loyalty program, leveraging the power of their existing SwiftPOS system and integrating to Harris Data’s My VIP platform.

“Both SwiftPOS and the MyVIP contactless ordering platform are in place at a number of venues across South-East Queensland,” Mr Rafton said.

“However, the true benefits of these systems are realised when they are brought together to provide an integrated loyalty system.

“We utilised SwiftPOS as the core membership system and setup an integration to Impact Data’s Talkbox Platform.

“We then used the MyVIP app to create a new member signup online, where members could join the loyalty program for free and instantly receive their login details.

“This connects via an API to add the member directly into SwiftPOS and Talkbox, completing the loyalty integration.

“We then setup a series of automated marketing campaigns in Talkbox that provide a reward the next day to new members, to drive back to the businesses.

Mr Rafton said the integration is working seamlessly.

“The solution provides a very smooth user experience – it’s easy to use and rewards members instantly,” he said.

“The best part is there is no manual handling – members are automatically added into all the necessary systems, and we can automate an ongoing suite of campaigns through Talkbox.

“It’s a great solution for venues without a dedicated gaming or membership system and allows the Shiraz and SPK team to get on with the daily operation of their businesses.”
